I Need a Change - The Shouting Matches

(Live from Coachella 2013)

Love the sound, love the band, love the song. That falsetto at “And now, now you need a change too.” gets me everytime. I wish things like this could be said in real-life without it sounding mean. Maybe I should start soulfully singing all of my apologies and confessions, maybe that would work.

Get the album here. Or on ITunes. It’s worth it

They say every man needs protection, they say every man must fall. Yet I swear I see my reflection some place so high above this wall. I see my light come shining from the west unto the east. Any day now, any day now, I shall be released.

Jeff Buckley - I Shall Be Released

Live at Sin-é

(Written by Bob Dylan)

This song has made one of the largest impacts on me that a song has had in a long time.

I was having a very terrible day one day and this song came on shuffle from my computer and I immediately could not do anything.  My hands stopped moving, my body was still, and calm.  I could feel as if someone had picked out pieces of conversations and thoughts I had had in the last month and put them all into a concise and beautiful poem that expresses my emotions way better than I ever could.

I don’t care what some say the song was written about, or what kind of undertones it has.  I am now different because of that day and because of the random act of this song coming on during a rough day.

Thank you Bob Dylan and Jeff Buckley.  You’ve made my life better.
